Good day to all. I hope you had a wonderful, restful, and memorable break. I sure did. For starters today I have a little opener for you to fill in to tell me about your break and what you are planning on for the rest of the school year. What You Did Over Break
After that, it is time to start a brand new project. This project will take you through the entire design process with a real client. You will be doing a backyard design for Miss Jessica Forster, who is a teacher at Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove. The goal for today will be to complete a project base plan in SketchUp. Everyone will build a base in SketchUp even if you plan on doing the rest of the project by hand.
Below is the base I measured this weekend.
Before the period is over we will go over and discuss the Plant ID Quiz that we will have next Thrusday, APRIL 18TH.
Wednesday:
Hello, hello. Good day to all. Today we are going to start off by reviewing the new project, looking at photos of the site, photos of inside the client's house, and going over the client's needs and wants.
Today you will need to break down the list and turn it into a program you will be working from. You will complete a program as well as two spacial relationship diagrams today. They can be digitally or on paper, but in the end will need to be put into a final keynote. So, inserting slides now is beneficial. I will also be coming around and checking your site plans as well.
Remember. I am progress grading the project. You need to turn in work at the end of every period for progress grades. You can always go back and fix or revise work for the final submission.
Friday: Zantedeschia aethiopica
Hello to all. Several things happening today. First off, be sure to add the new plant to your list of Plants to Know. This plant happens to be one of Miss Forster's favorites and there is plenty of shade along her back fence to plant them.
After that, you will be working on your Conceptual Diagrams. This is a more refined version of your spacial relationship diagram, but not nearly complete like your schematic diagrams. You may choose to do these drawings on paper, digitally, or is SketchUp. All are okay. Please keep in mind, the conceptual plan needs to be to scale. You have to start understanding scale and proportions for your plans. The conceptual plan can be done in black and white but must show clarity and attention to detail.
I will be going around and checking for all drawings at the end of the period today. Remember, you are being graded on timed submissions for all parts, but can revise any and all drawings for the final submission.
